Update 2: The Park

Hey Disc Golfers,
Great news! The Park will be opening for the 2022 season on Thursday, JUNE 23.

I know everyone is excited for this opening, and to keep things running as smoothly as last year, I ask everyone to please read the following information to familiarize yourself with the processes for 2022 because there are some changes.

REGISTRATION:
Players can pre-register through this web portal provided by The Park/Crown Isle. It is similar to discgolfscene.com, which many of us are familiar with. This year, you may register to events on Tuesdays and Thursdays up to one month in advance. You will NOT pay online. Payment of green fees will be done in the pro shop upon arrival. It will be $12, tax included. For Thursday club nights, club and ace pot fees will be collected independently by the club–cash only, $2 total.

SHOTGUN START:
Like last year, we will shot gun start at 5:30pm. Please be at the course by 5:10pm to ensure time for payment and starting hole assignment. On both Tuesdays and Thursdays, a CVDGC volunteer will make groupings based on the player list and will do their best to accommodate card-mate preferences. Play will be in groups of 4.

TWICE WEEKLY:
As announced previously, there will be two disc golf nights weekly. Tuesdays will be casual play and Thursdays will be club night. Tuesdays, simply pre-register in advance, pay green fee upon arrival, and check-in with volunteer for hole assignment. Thursday nights follow the same procedure as above; however, there will be additional prizes and competitive elements. UDISC will be used to score on Thursdays for those playing competitively.

THE COURSE:
The majority of the course layout is similar to last year; however, there are some notable tweaks. The tee pads on Holes 1, 7, 11 have shifted slightly. Holes 3, 10, 18 now have OB areas for added challenge and safety. And holes 6 and 17 are redesigned. As usual, all golf greens are out of bounds. Please do not throw from them.

Course markings are improved this year and a new map will be available in the near future.

The course will likely still be wet in 2 weeks time, so please tread gently when possible. Avoid the worst areas with your path of travel. Thomas, the greenskeeper has also asked that if a throw knocks a tree branch off into what would be a golf fairway, kindly toss the branch into the bush; it aids in the course mowing.

As usual, please follow all of the typical course etiquette including liquor rules. No outside alcohol.

To give everyone a day to digest this information, ask questions, and point out things I may have forgotten to mention, I will be posting the link for registration tomorrow afternoon.

Cheers everyone.
